There's not much of a difference from the driver's perspective, other than that SUVs tend to be much larger and have bigger engines. However, most crossover SUVs can seat seven people and have more than enough cargo rooms for weekend camping trips and anything else a family can do. Crossovers also get better gas mileage because they're lighter and smaller than SUVs, and they often have more stylish exteriors as well.

A crossover vehicle has the chasis of a sedan, but with the body style of a SUV, hence the term crossover. A full size SUV can carry more people, more stuff and larger engines, but there are some pretty roomy and powerful crossovers on today's auto market too.
